“Water Broke” is a rumination on the historic and cyclical nature of our nation’s many “battlefield replacements.” Toy soldiers representing combatants from our American Revolution to the present (as well as a WTC firefighter first responder) echo the horror and reluctance any sane person would feel towards going to war, yet it seems every generation is called to serve and Americans respond to that call with honor and distinction whether their war is unjust or not.
