Description: My nephew, upon graduating Tufts University, enrolled in the Army and served in Afghanistan circa 2004-05. There also was a TIME magazine cover that I copied for this painting but instead used a skeleton to represent the soldier and the destructive forces of war. My skeleton is the “Soldier of Misfortune.”
