Spotlight: Tara Leigh Tappert

Library of Congress Larson Fellowship Letter

Tara Leigh Tappert, JME Art Editor was recently awarded the Prestigious Library of Congress Larson Fellowship (see above image). The fellowship grants Dr. Tappert a year of access to do research in the Library of Congress archives. Tappert will be researching the topic “Arts and crafts making as a transformational healing process for war trauma.” Tappert’s research interest is manifested in her efforts for JME and her professional work as an archivist and art consultant. We at MEA are eager to learn from Tappert’s research findings as anticipated research directly relates to MEA’s mission: to encourage creative, cathartic expression by military veterans.

Please join us in congratulating Dr. Tappert and thanking her for sharing her expertise with us in the last three volumes of JME!
