Artist Statement: This is an illustration of a recurring vision of a flight of B29’s vaulting the Pacific. It’s a cryptic, laden scene that implies a sense of humanity, but doesn’t spell it out.

Bio: Erik E. Gize was a naval officer reaching the rank of Lieutenant Commander. After numerous tours at sea, both in the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Merchant marine he ‘came ashore’ and now works as a government civilian in the defense sector. Mr. Gize resides in Southern Indiana on his small farm, where he writes about, and paints images of, his experiences at sea and in the deserts of Arabia.
