We’re proud to announce the release of As You Were: The Military Review, Vol. 22, our latest collection of military-themed literary fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry, and artwork.
Like its predecessors, this edition contains work that is representative of the extraordinary effort on the part of the creators to share parts of the human experience with you. What takes minutes to read takes months or years to create, each work having gone through numerous iterations of polishing and honing. Sometimes that process requires the wholesale discarding of original drafts or ideas in order to more effectively and powerfully deliver the themes the writers and artists wish to convey.
Some of the writers within have worked with our editors in that very process. It’s skill, a humble approach to their own work, and an innate belief in themselves that’s enabled them to render these works now available to you.
It’s with pride that we extend an invitation for you to peruse the results of their efforts in As You Were: The Military Review, Vol. 22. You may learn something of the multitude of ways in which the military shapes the human experience and, conversely, the ways humans shape it.
