Artist Statement: “Mask” is a mixed media piece, which includes an original poem, acrylic, printmaking and collage. It is about being comfortable in your own skin, especially when we have life changes, like feeling lost upon getting out of the military, transitioning into civilian life, job changes, relationship changes, and more. We need to take off the all the masks we wear around others, be ourselves, and be comfortable with who we are. You are enough.
Bio: Lisa Corrigan is a Michigan-based artist known for her unique art style encompassing various mediums, many which highlight nature. She works with mixed media, Zentangle, resin, acrylic, printmaking, crystals and more. She has been featured in multiple local art shows and continues to expand her knowledge in different mediums. Lisa is a Navy Veteran, founder of Brushedinquartz on Instagram, and enjoys teaching others art for enjoyment, as well as a form of art therapy. In her spare time. she enjoys traveling with her wife, spending time with family and playing with her two dogs.
