Welcome home and thanks for your service.
I hope this doesn’t make you nervous.
Everyone here wants to wish you well.
The noises you hear are not bomb shells.
You’ve spent all your time staying alive
But now you are home and you can thrive.
There aren’t any jobs for you right now.
And school’s not an option, anyhow.
Here’s your savings, so go find a place.
I have already forgotten your face.
